I recently celebrated my birthday with a friend at Sutra in the Wallingford area of Seattle. It wasn’t until I was being served dessert that I remembered I was going to take photos of every course. The food was that outstanding! The menu changes every two weeks often incorporating locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. For example, on the menu last night was a pureed nettle and miso soup with a sesame seed garnish and the main course included locally foraged yellowfoot chanterelles. Yum!
Sutra is a business that supports sustainable, local agriculture, minimal food waste, and a commitment to the environment and our community. All meals are vegan and they accommodate dietary restrictions and strong food preferences with advance notice. They have two seatings per night Thursday through Saturday and one seating each Wednesday and Sunday. The menu is pre-set and includes four courses including dessert. Along with wine and other beverages, a special treat are the variety of non-alcoholic elixirs offered. Reservations are recommended.
