Internationally renowned macrobiotic teacher and counselor, Warren Kramer, is coming to Seattle, WA, February 8-11, to teach Advanced Macrobiotic Study: Common Health Concerns: Diagnosis and Treatment and to provide individual consultations.

“This is the third in a series of advanced programs that are designed to take your practice to another level and prepare you to bring macrobiotics out to society. We are in a time where people need solid, accurate advice and guidance with regard to their health. In the coming years there will be a greater demand for people grounded in macrobiotics to take what they know out to the world.

In this exciting advanced workshop we will study how to address many of the most common health concerns that people are facing today as well as simple ways to diagnose the issues. You will have the tools to help other people return back to balance as well as adjust your own health.”

The Macrobiotic Approach to Healing
Learn the simple yet powerful model that we use in macrobiotic “medicine”. This lecture lays the foundation to a solid macrobiotic practice.

Saturday February 10

Lecture 1: Food as Medicine, Development of Common Health Problems
Let’s look at the power of food and the application of the Five Transformation Theory to both nourish particular organs and to effectively discharge past extreme food consumption. We will also look at how health problems develop.
Mid-Morning Break|
Lecture 2: Common Health Problems, Diagnosis and Treatment-Part 1
A look at some of the most common and pressing health issues that people face (weight, headaches, sleep, fatigue, skin, blood sugar, memory and more)
12-1 pm: Lunch
1-2:30 pm: Common Health Problems, Diagnosis and Treatment-Part 2
(digestion, aches and pains, depression and more)
Mid-Afternoon Break
3-5:30 pm: Cooking Class: The Power of Home Remedies
Natural Remedies are simply specific combinations of ingredients of foods we use in our kitchen day to day that will produce a powerful outcome. Using the Five Transformations we will study how these remedies are used and why they are so effective.
Remedies include: carrot daikon drink, sweet vegetable drink, ume sho kuzu, dried daikon tea, ginger compress and more…

Sunday February 11
7:30-8:30am: Morning Tea
Question and Answer with Warren. This is a unique opportunity to get some questions answered and discuss concepts in more depth.
8:30-9:30am: Breakfast
9:30-12:30: Cooking Class: Unique Healing Dishes
Join us for a special cooking class that incorporates some amazing dishes that can transform our health.
Dishes include: kinpira soup, dried daikon with vegetables, gomoku grain dish, nori condiment and more…
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30-3:30pm: Student Presentations
Each student is required to come prepared with a written paragraph explaining one dish and one remedy that is the most suitable for their condition and why it is.
3:30-4 pm: Final Comments and Closing

All meals are vegan. Gluten-free available by request.

Registration Details:

This workshop is for those of us who have actively studied macrobiotics or TCM for some time with senior macrobiotic teachers and/or have a long term macrobiotic practice. If you have any questions about whether you qualify, just contact me or Warren and we can discuss if this is the right course for you.

This course will also include two assignments, one to be completed prior to the workshop and one presentation to the group on Sunday afternoon.
