Five Favorite Summer Recipes

Summer in the northern hemisphere often brings warmer weather. Some foods have a cooling nature and eating those foods can be best suited to the warmer months when our bodies could use some support with cooling. For more information, check out the blog post on Aligning with Summer and the fire element and things you can do to help support your body during warmer months.

When I am feeling warm, I like to moderately increase raw vegetables. I add more corn, tofu, grain and bean salads and light, brothy soups to my diet.

At the same time, I reduce longer cooked dishes, baked dishes and if you are eating animals summer is a great time to reduce meat consumption which can produce a lot of heat in our bodies.

Here are some of my favorite recipes for warmer weather. They are pretty simple to make and involve less time in front of the stove top and in a hot kitchen.
